Coastal Lookouts and Sunset Views
Later in the day, walk or use your transportation to explore Tokashiki’s coastal lookouts. There are several viewpoints, including Teruyama Observatory, an observatory within walking distance from Arahen Beach that offers stunning aerial views of turquoise waters, rugged cliffs, and smaller outer islands.
Dinner: Tokashiki's Local Dining Scene
If you’re staying near Arahen Beach, there are several dining options available, as this is the area with the most centralized restaurants and bars. As with many small islands, restaurant availability can vary by day and season. Hours can change or be limited, so flexibility and advanced planning go a long way.
Recommended dinner options:
Sea Friend Seafood Restaurant – This is connected to the hotel, Sea Friend, and can be included in hotel stays. It is a restaurant with reliable hours, and offers a changing menu reflecting delicious and traditional Okinawa dinner sets.
Harvel Kitchen and Guesthouse Grand Blue– A welcoming restaurant that serves a variety of Okinawan cuisine in a modern atmosphere.
Day 2: Diving in Kerama Islands National Park
Scuba Diving with Local Guides
Day two is dedicated to one of Tokashiki’s biggest highlights: scuba diving in the Kerama Islands National Park.
The Keramas are considered one of the best diving destinations in Japan, known for exceptional visibility, healthy coral reefs, and abundant marine life. Every dive feels like entering a living aquarium.
Dive sites around Tokashiki offer completely different experiences:
Jungle Gym: Large coral formations that feel like an underwater playground
Cave sites: Rocky arches, tunnels, and swim-throughs with light streaming in
The combination of variety, visibility, and marine life makes diving here truly special. If you are not a scuba diver, there are snorkeling tours available.

Lunch & Beach Time at Aharen
After diving, return to Aharen Beach for lunch and a relaxed afternoon. This is the island’s main dining area, and everything is conveniently located within walking distance.
Local dishes to try:
Okinawa soba
Taco rice, a classic Okinawan favorite
Once you’ve eaten, head back down to the sand for more swimming, snorkeling, or lounging.
Optional Activity: Tubing & Water Sports

For something more adventurous, Aharen Beach offers water activities such as tubing, where you’re pulled behind a jet ski on an inflatable ring. While short, it’s fast-paced and a lot of fun.
Day 3: Scenic Exploration & Island Views
Explore Tokashiki’s Southern Coast
Use your final day to explore more of Tokashiki Island. With your own transportation, it’s easy to visit multiple scenic viewpoints along the coast. Each lookout offers a different view of:
Clear blue water
Dramatic island landscapes
Surrounding islets
This is a great opportunity to revisit favorite spots, take photos, or simply enjoy the peaceful scenery.
Final Beach Time
Before departing, return to Aharen Beach or another quiet stretch of coast for a final swim or snorkel, maybe even another organized trip if time permits. Tokashiki’s calm water and excellent visibility make it easy to enjoy the ocean right up until it’s time to leave.
