1. Busan Haeundae Traditional Market

This strip of authentic Korean-style food restaurants near Haeundae Beach offers a combination of fresh seafood, a scenic location, and interactive dining options, making it a must-try for those seeking a memorable and flavorful experience in Busan. The market is a 5-minute walk from Haeundae Beach which adds to the overall appeal of this culinary destination, providing visitors with the opportunity to enjoy both delicious Korean cuisine and the beautiful beach atmosphere.

The unique aspect of being able to pick fresh seafood directly from salt or freshwater tanks outside the restaurants adds an interactive and fresh touch to the dining experience. Having appetizers while your chosen seafood, whether it's fish, eel, or prawns, is prepared to perfection emphasizes the freshness and quality of the ingredients. There are also several Korean-style options, where patrons can cook their own meals while sipping on their favorite Soju or beer, adding a social and immersive element to the dining experience.

2. Haeundae Blueline Park

This is a fantastic activity and a great way to experience the scenic and beautiful coast of Haeundae. The four-seat Sky Capsules are a very popular activity that operate from Mipo Station to Cheongsapo Station every 30-minutes (each way) so a total trip would last one hour. You can take food and drinks aboard the Sky Capsules which makes it that much more enjoyable. To avoid wait time you can make reservations online. There are also ticketing kiosks located at Mipo and Cheongsapo Stations.

If you are looking to make the trip in half the time but still want to enjoy the scenery, try taking the Haeundae beach train which runs all the way from Mipo Station to Songjeong Station. We highly recommend stopping at the Daritdol Observatory, the view from the observation deck is exceptional even on a rainy day. From Daritdol you can take the beach train back, or walk back to Cheongsapo Station, approximately 600 meters, or all the way back to Mip Station if you want some exercise with a view, approximately 3 Kilometers along the scenic route.

4. Sky luge

This was such a fun and exciting activity, we had to do it twice. Get a great view from up above of Haeundae Beach and Dongbu Mountain on the way up in a comfortable chairlift and ride down the slopes and curves of a 2.5 kilometer course in a fun-easy-to-handle Cart. The entire experience was far too exhilarating; we had to go a second time. The park is located 10 minutes from the Ananti Hilton Busan and 5 minutes from Haedong Yonggungsa Temple. 5. Haedong Yonggungsa Temple

Haedong Yonggungsa is a Buddhist temple built in 1376 during the Goryeo Dynasty. During Japan’s invasion of Korea in 1592-1598, the Temple was destroyed and was not rebuilt until 1930. The current structure dates back to the early 20th century, as the temple has undergone various renovations and rebuilds over time due to natural disasters and wars.

Haedong Yonggungsa is a popular destination for both locals and tourists. It is a cultural and religious site that holds various ceremonies and events throughout the year, attracting visitors who come to experience the spiritual and serene atmosphere. The temple is situated on the northeastern coast of the city, between a mountain and overlooking the Sea of Japan. Unlike many other Korean temples that are nestled in mountains, Haedong Yonggungsa is unique in its coastal location, providing stunning views of the ocean.

In addition, the Jwabul Observatory is a pavilion which has panoramic views of the sea and the temple complex. It is a popular spot for visitors to take in the scenery and enjoy the coastal setting. One of the most well-known events is the Haeundae Sand Festival, where artists create intricate sand sculptures along the shoreline. In addition, visitors can engage in various water sports such as jet skiing, and banana boat rides. Haeundae's nightlife is vibrant, and the beach area comes alive after sunset. There are numerous bars, clubs, and cafes that offer a lively atmosphere, particularly during the summer months.

8. Jagalchi Market

Jagalchi Fish Market, one of the largest and most renowned fish markets in South Korea. The market's reputation as the largest in the country is due to the extensive offerings of a variety of seafood, ranging from different types of fish and crab to shrimp, squid, and more. The unique aspect of allowing customers to pick their own live seafood, which the vendors then cook and serve with customizable sides, adds an interactive and personalized touch to the culinary experience.

The beach provides not only a relaxing coastal experience but also caters to those seeking a more active and lively atmosphere.

For those looking for a bit of adventure beyond the beach, a short walking trail at the end of Songjeong Beach leading to Jukdo Park adds an extra dimension to the destination. The Soniljeong Pavilion overlooking the ocean and the overhanging rocks in Jukdo Park create a spectacular and picturesque sight, making it a great spot for visitors to explore and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Visiting in the afternoon or during the week is recommended to avoid the crowds. Additionally, the availability of parking can be limited so plan ahead, especially on weekends when finding parking may be challenging due to increased visitor numbers.
